About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven lead analyst to play a pivotal role in driving Bark’s growth and profitability. As Commercial Analyst Lead, you will be a senior individual contributor at the heart of the business, owning performance outcomes and ensuring data-driven decision-making across categories and markets.
You will combine strong analytical capability with commercial judgement, taking accountability for identifying opportunities, optimising performance, and driving profitability. In addition, you will have line management responsibility for junior commercial analysts, supporting their development while ensuring high-quality analysis and delivery across the team.
Reporting into senior commercial leadership, this is a highly visible role working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance, with real influence over how Bark prioritises growth and investment.
Responsibilities
Optimise commercial performance across categories, with impact on revenue, margin, and profitability outcomes
Develop, evaluate, and execute strategies to grow existing categories and successfully launch new ones
Identify and size growth opportunities, trade-offs, and risks, making clear recommendations grounded in data and commercial insight
Partner closely with performance marketing and sales teams to analyse Buyer and Seller acquisition economics, conversion funnels, and lifetime value
Lead pricing, category question design, and monetisation strategy, balancing conversion, revenue per conversion, and long-term profitability
Continuously test, evaluate, and refine commercial levers to maximise sustainable profit, while remaining responsive to customer and marketplace feedback
Produce high-impact commercial analysis and insights that inform senior decision-making across the business
Proactively surface performance issues and opportunities, rather than responding only to ad-hoc requests
Line manage and mentor junior commercial analysts, setting clear objectives, reviewing output quality, and supporting their professional development
Take ownership of end-to-end commercial projects, from problem definition through to execution and impact measurement
Maintain a deep understanding of Bark’s competitive landscape, including pricing, propositions, and business models
Required Skills and Experience
Strong numerical and analytical capability, with a proven ability to use data to drive commercial strategy and profitability
Advanced experience using Excel or Google Sheets, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial or commercial modelling
Demonstrated commercial judgement, with experience balancing growth, conversion, and profitability trade-offs
Ability to operate autonomously, prioritising high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Product, and senior leadership
Experience owning performance metrics and being accountable for commercial outcomes
Structured, detail-oriented approach, with the ability to zoom out to strategic implications
Experience managing or mentoring junior team members, or a clear readiness to step into a line management role
Bonus!
Experience in a marketplace, SaaS, or digital platform business
Exposure to performance marketing economics, pricing strategy, or revenue optimisation
Experience working with dashboards or data visualisation tools
Ability to speak French and/or German
Perks and Benefits
25 days of paid holiday, with extra days added at 3 and 5 years of service.
Fully remote working, plus up to 20 days each year to work from anywhere in the world.
