About the role
Bark is hiring a Marketing AI & Automation Engineer to join our Marketing team in Bangalore. We aren't looking for a consultant to draft roadmaps, or a classic engineer to write scripts on demand. We need an AI-native operator who designs and ships agentic systems for marketing — someone who lives inside Claude Code, takes an idea, orchestrates agents to build it, and puts it live.
You'll be embedded inside a ~30-person marketing team spanning Performance, SEO, Affiliates, Social, CRM, Content and Analytics across UK, India and Spain. Our data already lives in Tableau; what's missing is the agentic layer that turns it into action. You're the person who builds that layer — authoring the skills, subagents, workspaces and plugins the team uses daily, and standing up the orchestrators that connect Claude Code, MCP, Agent SDKs and Trigger.dev to Google Ads, Meta, GA4, GSC, GTM, Iterable, Contentful and our internal tools. If you already design and run agentic pipelines — and you come from a marketing background (advertising, tracking, automation, CRM) that makes your prompts sharp — this is your role.
What You'll Do
Build Our Agent Orchestrators: Our data already sits in Tableau — the unlock isn't consolidation, it's turning data into action. Your first objective is to build the agent orchestrators that connect Claude Code, MCP, Agent SDKs and Trigger.dev to our marketing stack (Google Ads, Meta, GA4, GSC, GTM, Iterable, Contentful), so automations drive decisions, not just dashboards that report.
Ship Marketing Automations: Every function has repetitive processes and manual reports. You'll design and ship the agentic systems that replace them — PPC copy generation, landing pages, creative QA, CRM journey audits, attribution reconciliation, reporting. In production, used daily, measured.
Build the Claude Code Stack: You are Bark's in-house Claude expert. You author the skills, subagents, workspaces (.claude/ structures) and plugins the team relies on. You spec and extend MCP servers. You evaluate every new Anthropic primitive and decide what lands in our stack.
Build Internal Tools Fast: When the team needs a dashboard, reviewer, annotator or ops console that doesn't exist, you ship it in days, not quarters. Fluent with AI-coding tools (v0, Lovable, Bolt, Cursor, Replit Agent, Claude Code) on modern stacks (Next.js / React, Python, Postgres, Supabase, Vercel/Netlify).
Own Our AI Strategy & Enable the Team: We've already started — skills, agents and workspaces across ~10 projects. You analyse what works, deprecate what doesn't, document the winners. Pair with the ~30 people across every marketing function, write playbooks, run working sessions, so each leaves with their own tailored agentic workflows — not just watching you build yours.
Governance & Measurement: Put rails around AI usage — cost tracking, secret and PII hygiene, review gates on customer-facing output. Every automation carries a before/after: hours saved, lift delivered, error rate reduced.
Who You Are
5–8 years in a marketing career (marketing ops/performance/growth/martech/CRM) with hands-on experience in advertising, tracking, automation and CRM — the kind of marketer who was always a bit of a nerd, then got hooked on Claude Code and agentic workflows. Your prompts are sharp because you know the problem, not because you're technically clever.
Deep Claude Code expertise: you've authored skills, built .claude/ workspaces, and written or extended MCP servers, subagents and plugins — opinionated about the right patterns.
Agent-native stack fluency: Agent SDKs (Claude / OpenAI), Trigger.dev (or Inngest / Temporal), AI-coding tools (v0, Lovable, Bolt, Cursor, Replit Agent).
Code as a working language: you read, modify and debug Python / TypeScript when agents hand you output. Not a role where you write code from scratch.
Strong point of view: you have a thesis on how marketing should work in an agentic era, and you can defend it.
Deep marketing fundamentals: paid media (keyword architecture, creative testing, audience logic, attribution, LTV/CAC), tracking, CRM lifecycle, analytics — enough that marketers trust your tools.
Working knowledge of at least three of: GA4 / BigQuery, Google Ads API, Meta Marketing API, GSC, CDPs (Iterable / Segment / Customer.io), Tableau / Looker.
Strong plus: hands-on with Google Tag Manager (container management, triggers, variables), pixel management, server-side tracking, Consent Mode, attribution setup.
Plus: marketplace / two-sided / subscription / lead-gen-to-subscription experience (Polaris-type transitions).
Excellent written and spoken English — non-negotiable. Comfortable in our Bangalore office 3+ days a week, with occasional London travel.
