About Bark
Bark is an online services marketplace connecting customers with professionals across over 1,000 categories. Operating in nine countries including the UK, US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, we're transforming how people find trusted service providers for everything from home improvement to professional services.
Our platform uses cutting-edge technology to match customers with the right professionals quickly and efficiently. With a global team of over 220 people, we're currently undergoing an exciting transformation: migrating from a lead generation model to a full marketplace platform with subscription-based pricing.
As a profitable, PE backed scale up (EMK Capital), Bark offers the best of both worlds: the agility and innovation of a fast moving business combined with financial stability and resources for growth. We recently launched our new marketplace model in Australia (Q4 2025) and are preparing for rollout to the UK and US markets in 2026. You'll have genuine ownership, responsibility, and the opportunity to shape our commercial strategy during a pivotal transformation phase with the chance to make your own contribution to our journey.
About the Role
We’re looking for a talented and driven senior PM to own our Consumer Search to Contact Experience.
When someone needs a plumber, a wedding photographer, or an architect, they arrive at Bark not knowing who to trust or what they should pay. Your job is to earn that trust in the space of a single visit, enough that a stranger will describe their project and hand it to a professional they've not yet met.
You'll own the consumer's first journey through Bark: how they search and browse, how they build up the details of what they need, and how confidently they send that to the right professionals.
A few of the questions you'll be thinking about regularly:
How do you increase the number of people who complete this journey without lowering the quality of what reaches professionals?
How do you turn a vague need ("I think I want an extension?") into a clear brief a professional can actually respond to?
How do you get someone to trust an unfamiliar professional enough to potentially invite them into their home?
How do you give people confidence about price before they've spoken to anyone?
Where this team fits
This is a critical role in our transformation. This team is key to delivering good first session unit economics but also sets the consumer expectations for everything that happens downstream.
To deliver these goals, you’ll need to work effectively both within your team - but also across our other squads to deliver the right experience for our consumers. Most notably:
Professional team: to make sure we have the right data to showcase our pros effectively
Marketplace balancing team: which professionals should we show in search results
Enquiry to Hire team: how do we set consumers up for a subsequent hire
What we're looking for
We care more about how you think than the exact boxes you've ticked. Even if you don’t match everything perfectly - but you believe you have something to add to the role - we’d still love to hear from you.
Essential
Funnel analysis. You've owned a consumer conversion journey before and can read a funnel, form hypotheses, and run experiments that move the numbers.
Comfort with ambiguity. You've built product where the model was still forming, the answer wasn't obvious, and you had to create clarity rather than wait for it.
Evidence-led judgement. You use both qualitative and quantitative evidence well, and you know which one a given decision actually needs.
Influence without authority. You can get several teams to a shared plan when none of them report to you.
AI-powered product thinking — you use AI tools to move faster through discovery, design and delivery.
Bonus, not required
Experience in a two-sided marketplace, where you've had to reason about supply and demand at the same time
Experience of a business model changing underneath you (e.g. subscription, marketplace, or platform transitions).
