About the Role
We’re looking for a driven and creative Content Manager to join our in-house content and creative team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in one of Bark’s most significant international projects: transforming our marketing across channels, specifically into Paid Social.
Content will be a big part of this transformation, and we need someone who’s passionate about delivering high-quality, conversion-optimised marketing landing page content. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our online content, researching and planning future article content, and building out new content into a content management system. Responsibilities
- Head up cross-channel content strategies focused on growth through organic traffic and customer retention, with a particular focus on website content development.
- Closely collaborate with the SEO team’s strategy to drive visitors to Bark.com, with a primary focus on written content and an eye to expanding into formats including video, webinar, and others.
- Oversee and work towards an ambitious long-term content strategy that repositions Bark as a trusted global resource for information across all formats.
- Manage large-scale article production from Content Executives and other freelancers, ensuring quality and consistency across topics.
- Set benchmarks and measure results to inform future content plans and gauge business value.
- Occasionally writing yourself, particularly in-depth, location-specific articles about services in Australia, the US, and the UK (e.g. cleaning, counselling, tutoring, event entertainment).
- Ensuring content on the website is consistently up to date and managing changes.
- Mentor Content Executives in areas such as content strategy and copywriting development, and providing feedback on output.
- Monitor and maintain a consistent editorial style across the content team, including tone, formatting, content inclusions, and SEO best practise.
- Commission and collaborate with external content agencies and freelance writers, creating detailed briefs and putting work through QA.
- Balance AI-generated content with human-written content to meet high production goals.
- Serve as the point of contact for content queries from international teams, e.g. France and Germany.
- Other responsibilities might include things like conducting interviews with professionals (e.g., gym owners, cleaning business owners) to add expertise to articles.
Required Skills and Experience
- Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, with attention to detail, the ability to write confidently and accurately, and the ability to provide helpful feedback to other writers.
- Know what makes a piece of content good, not just the use of keywords and the correct tone of voice, but also how to enrich articles for topical authority and engagement.
- Be confident in creating and executing content strategies in a fast-changing business across a wide variety of industries.
- Have an excellent working knowledge of SEO and the challenges/opportunities faced by businesses in the face of smart search engine answers.
- Have excellent working knowledge of the use of LLMs in content creation, with an understanding of the pros/cons of AI use and the ability to balance high production levels with quality.
